Jack, I work with your wonderful wife, Carol, at NBCU. (Yes, it's all my fault and I'm very, very sorry!). Carol was good enough to send me the link to your blog and, having read all of your entries from Haiti, i had to write to let you know how thankful i am that there are people like you and your colleagues in the world. In a world constantly looking in all the wrong places for heroes, you and the other volunteers define the word. I am so impressed that words really are inadequate. But knowing your wife, Carol, i am not surprised. Keep up your important work and for what little it's worth thanks for your dedication and amazing efforts. Carol and I will continue to do our part making the world safe for ... er, argh, x%$&%&%, never mind ...

Hey guys. I wish I could promise dinner at Morton's like Desiree, but I fear with Jack's appetite it wouldn't be enough! Are the new guys coming tomorrow? I think it is supposed to snow on Saturday so you will have a reprieve from the 100 degree weather. Jack, if it makes you feel any better, Quintus is taking his spot in the middle of the bed, but a bed with an 160 pound drooling dog still beats the cot! We all can't wait to see you. I have had to watch The Colbert Report with Charlie and Jayne while you have been gone. See you soon. Love you and miss you, too. "OK" - Carol

It is John's modesty which makes him a great doctor. He is actually an awesome pediatrician. He can get kids to enjoy being taken care of by him because he is so funny. Too bad when his own kids get sick they get largely ignored (mostly because we think they are faking (lol)). Watching him care for kids is so endearing to me because I see some of his best qualities come out. John be careful and be safe. I might just make a post-Haiti appointment with the I.D. doctor you saw after the Peru trip to be sure your safe to be around! You better not come home with the coodies or worse.
Luv U,
