Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)The unwanted signs of aging are often first noticeable around the eyes. Eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty) is designed to help rejuvenate and brighten tired, puffy or heavy-appearing eyes. The procedure accomplishes this by removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Blepharoplasty can be done alone or in conjunction with other facial surgeries such as a facelift or a brow lift or can be combined with BOTOX® treatments to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow's feet or dark circles under the eyes. The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia with sedation, or under general anesthesia. Most patients recover fully within two weeks. |
