Scar RevisionWhen the body is injured in an accident, undergoes surgery, or the skin is injured for any other reason, it tries to correct itself. While scarring is a natural and healthy process, the effects can often be unsightly. Scar revision surgery can only improve the way the scar looks, rather than removing it entirely. No scar can be taken off completely. Scar revision surgery can, however, make a scar much less noticeable, or less severe. The procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia. Most patients are able to return to work within a day or two. |
